BELLA VISTA
Bella Vista is an Italianate Villa built on the banks of the Mighty Murray river in 1999. It was the private home of Anna and Domenico Carazza whose families originated in southern Italy. Their combined vision contributed to their success in business and also in building this unique home.
The Villa is the centerpiece of a classic garden designed by Paul Bangay, complete with his trademark design features including walled “ rooms” ,bronze fountains and reflective ponds. Extensive hedging rose plantings,a cool cedar forest , orchard trees and seasonal vegetable garden complete the picture.
Further amenities include a cliff top spa overlooking the river, spacious lawn and terrace areas, and indoors, a billiard suite and stunning 1920s formal dining room for those black tie occasions.
Bella Vista is also central to a range of local attractions including boutique wineries such as the Gold medal Trentham estate winery on the river. Restaurants abound to suit all tastes. Stefanos 2 hat cellar restaurant is world renown and may require forward bookings.
The river is the focus of boating and water ski activities as well as fishing and nature experiences.
Enjoy the many river walks, or ride or kayak if you prefer. Admire the historic paddle steamers gliding by.
Golf enthusiasts are also well catered for with four 18 hole golf courses close by, with river views of course!
One of our leading travel experiences, not to be missed, is a trip to world heritage listed Mungo National Park. Explore 40,000 years of Indigenous history, courtesy of the Latje Latje and Barkinji peoples. The geological formations of the great walls of China within the park hold many ancient mysteries.
Cultural and artistic endeavours are hosted weekly by the Mildura Arts Centre and many local galleries are waiting to be explored. The highly acclaimed NAP gallery has recently opened and is not to be missed.
